Yesterday Sydney had her 1 month check up (a week late). She was 11 lbs. 7 oz. (90th %tile) & 23 1/4 in. (97th %tile). Her head was only in the 75th %tile though. I am so grateful she is growing and getting enough from my breastmilk.
Speaking of which, I am about 80% healed from the sores she caused in the first few weeks. I have been wearing breast shells to keep my nipples from touching my bra, etc. and air drying as often as possible. Wearing "cups" around is not fun...collecting milk, leaking, hurts to hold my girl w/ them on, etc. But I am grateful that she has improved her latch greatly & only struggles now at night when she is half asleep. It is something to do w/ the way she rubs me w/ her tongue and not opening wide enough. I delatch & delatch until she gets mad and wakes up...so usually I just tolerate it, choosing sleep.
