At Syd's 6 month check up her stats were as follows:
Weight: 19 pounds - 90%
Height: 27 1/4 inches- 97%
Head: 34(?) cm- 95%
She was wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes at the time. (That was the longest amount of time she was in a certain size... I actually felt like she got some use out of her clothes.) Now she is having a growth spurt and quickly moving into 12-18 month clothes. I had to go back to the consignment stores to buy more winter clothes in bigger sizes! Hopefully, she should be good for a while since babies usually start slowing down growing here soon. I tried to buy things that would work for either winter or spring depending on the amount of layering I choose to do... I have some items she is wearing now that I had bought on clearance in 18 month size when I was pregnant thinking she would be wearing them next winter. HA! Gotta love the way you can't predict your baby's growth.
Right before Christmas Sydney started sitting up by herself like a pro! It was like one day she just "got it". It was fun to have Christmas and opening presents with her sitting up. She still didn't like to be on her tummy or back for long periods of time, but she would tolerate best when she was well rested (after a nap). This girl has always wanted to be upright! I attribute it to the reflux and maybe being upside down in my womb for an extra 2 1/2 weeks. Hee hee! It makes sense to me why she refuses to learn to roll over on her own... She thinks it's funny when I instigate it and try to get her to do it. =)
Sydney turned 6 months on December 28th... We made it breastfeeding until the 26th. I stopped that day because it was the beginning of the break after Christmas and we wanted to take advantage of Daddy's time off in case I needed some help with the transition. I will post a separate post updating that massive life change...
For the most part you she is such a happy girl! She just loves to talk, babble, and laugh. Although groaning is a favorite hobby when she is tired or concentrating on her fine motor skills. Peek a boo is quickly becoming one of her favorite games. She still LOVES her Tigger jump up. We call it the "jumpy-jumpy". (Weird how things get named like that when you are talking to babies.)
I love being a mother and am loving it more as she gets older and more interactive. Her feeding issues haven't been ideal, but she is so worth "dealing with". I am so grateful to God for the amazing responsibility of caring for her. I just hope to do it to the best of my ability with His guidance!
