Because then I have to rock/walk her sleep, which is not easy when you are asleep yourself.
After the first few weeks of sleeping long spans she went to eating every 2 hours @ night and every 1 hour during the day. Lately she has started every 3 hours @ night and every 2 during the day. Every now and then she will sleep 4 hours.
The hard part is she is suffering from bad reflux and only would sleep being held upright. Lots of pillows in bed w/ her on my chest works for us both to sleep until she gets too hot and then she will sleep in the bassinet. It seems her constant gas & straining to poop is what wakes her up all the time, even from naps. She has been getting better at sleeping during the day longer. She used to only sleep being held, otherwise she would wake up when put down.
TMI: her poo has been mucousy & recently possible old blood spots. I have suspected from some research the she has MSPI (milk soy protien intolerance). I started eliminating milk from my diet few weeks ago.
Update Added: Sorry for the out of order posts... I think I will just post the long ones from the computer from now on... I just need to make myself do it.

My son when he was a newborn had the same type poop and he was passing blood. He was/ is allergic to milk and soy! We also had him tested at one year and he was also allergic to egg, tree nut, peanut and shell fish. He is slowly outgrowing his food allergies, he will be 4 in a couple of weeks.
Good Luck!
My grandson has acid reflux and does much better sleeping in his bouncer! His doctor actually told my daughter not to let him sleep flat on his back...Thought that might help!
Both Abel and Belle have reflux issues and are on prescription meds. Belle has SEVERE reflux in which formula comes up through her nose and mouth and scares her to the point of tears. It is causing us many sleepless nights because someone has to listen out for her constantly in case she spits up. She just started a new prescription this week so I'm going to give it a few more days and if I don't see an improvement, I will call the pediatrician again. I'm so sorry that Sydney is also having reflux problems - I absolutely know how difficult this is for both parents and baby. :(
Have you seen the Fisher Price Rock and Play Sleeper? It is the greatest invention ever and may be a place for her to sleep in an elevated position. A friend's daughter had reflux and this was the only thing that allowed her to get any rest.
Several friends whose babies have reflux swear by the Rock and Play Sleeper. I frequently see them for a discount on nobetterdeal.com --they post new things every day between breakfast and lunch time.
