Frugal Mom Here

Or frugalista as I like to "call myself". If you haven't ever shopped kid's consignment before, I highly suggest it! I have found so many things in awesome condition or almost brand new for half than retail or even much less. From necessities to clothes to toys to shoes, my local ones have a great selection of it all.

Here are a few recent examples:
Sorry, horrible phone camera quality in all my pics!  I am just too lazy to upload real camera ones all the time...
Best $12 I ever spent!  She plays with this le.apfrog activity table all the time!  After pulling up on everything, I felt like she needed something to stand up and play with.... I was right.
Sorry, no video uploaded... but it is so cute to see her bounce and dance to the music!
Found Elmo for $1.  First thing I've bought her on splurge because she squealed with delight when she saw it.  She has attached to it ever since.  So odd, because she has never seen Sesame Street.
Got this walker for $12.  She is pushing one of my dolls from when I was little... she could care less if there was anything in the stroller though.  That is just me playing around. ;o)

Found her Easter dress for $2.50.  And her shoes for $2.00.  Her sweater was a gift from my aunt a while back.
Just like anyone, I love finding a good deal.  I just have to be careful to question myself whether we actually need it first.  Otherwise I can get carried away at times.  I hope to teach my little girl the art of being a good steward with her money, but to not become materialistic.  There is such a fine line of balance there that I am seeking all the time.  Life is about balance, is it not?

Watch out! I'm driving now...

Driving is my new obsession. LOL!  (Disclaimer: We are parked when she "drives". =)

Strolling

Someone is doing laps across the living room today for the first time alone! She has gotten the hang of using the walker & getting up on it herself...

Pulling Up

Everything is game for standing up & cruising these days...

First Easter!

Well, our first Easter was rather a disappointing one.  But hey, there is not much you do with an infant on Easter other than dress them up, go to church as usual, and visit family. =)  Sydney had ANOTHER stomach virus on Tuesday, 4/3.  A little more mild, thank goodness!  But 3 days of spread out barfs none the less...  I then came down with it on Thursday, 4/5.  Very minimal barfing, but feeling like you can't do a single thing without fainting was the main symptom.  Daddy had to come home from work to take care of Sydney!!  Thankfully (weird, I know) we got sick this time, otherwise I was beginning to think it was related to her solid foods or something else.   Then Daddy got sick on Saturday night, 4/7.  It was definitely a 2 day incubation period.  So he stayed home while we went to church and visited family.  Hopefully that is the last of the stomach viruses for the year!!!  I tell ya, this girl is quite sensitive digestively!

Despite it all, I was still grateful for the sacrifice that my Saviour made for me.  I did my best to remember despite all the germs...  I love this post that Ashley put up.  It sums up what I would love for anyone reading to know.  Life is not worth living without a relationship with Jesus!

Fun!

Having fun in the pop up tunnel!  Gotta love hand me downs...

Crawling machine
Our little monkey reading her favorite book.
Trying to master the art of turning pages.
After watching Mommy vacuum, she figured out the rug comes up!
My adorable shadow!  Love her!  Also quite the drooling machine (maybe one day we won't have to wear bibs).
