She jumped up in height on the chart! I will have to get the camera pics on here of her official monthly ones...
Well, despite her digestive issues Sydney is still thriving! Knowing that, keeps me going eating the 6 things I can. I call her my giant baby, because most people who don't know her, think she is a lot older than she is. Also lugging her around is a definite work out. That paired with the diet I am on for her, I am not going to have to lose any baby weight later! Believe me this is the only time in my life I look at the scale and am bummed when I drop a pound or two... it just means I need to eat more potatoes and avocados if I want to keep my supply up.
The pediatrician said she is doing 6 month things, especially her consonant sounds. She says: mama, nigh nigh, and dada. (She doesn't know what she is saying though.) I tell you what, my crazy dreams during pregnancy about having an advanced baby are somewhat coming true! The only thing she hasn't done yet is roll over. She has been so close for a month now... but has no desire to since I put her on her tummy for her during tummy time. Ha! But she does pull her legs under her like she wants to scoot or crawl when she is on her tummy.
She is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes now and a size 3 disposable diaper. Her Bu.mgenius cloth diapers have already been extended one rise of snaps. I also hate that she has to wear bibs all day, but she soaks through 3-5 of them a day with either saliva or spit up. Thanks to family and borrowing we now have enough that I don't have to do too much laundry, just for bibs.
Sydney loves to scratch everything to feel the texture. I have to keep those nails short because it hurts! She loves her exersaucer ALOT! She plays for 30 minutes straight in it a day. She just needs a little blanket to keep her upright.
She is still eating about every 2-3 hours... but I encourage that since she has reflux, and I don't like it when she overeats and barfs. HA! She still naps every 2 hours for about 30-45 minutes. But one of those naps is 2-3 hours. Yay! But it is only in her swing... we will have to work on that soon. She is still eat about 2-3 times a night, every 3-4 hours. But we co-sleep, so it is rather easy to nurse her. ;0) It is the best thing I did to move her into our bed out of the bassinet when she was 2 months old. I was sleeping with my arm in it all night any way because of her reflux waking her up. After reading about co-sleeping being better for her on Dr. S.ears website, I was so validated that my gut instinct was so right! (at least for us in this case, each child is different)
She LOVES people and going out. Actually she is happier when we have places to go, rather than stay home all the time. God knew that my husband and I needed an "otter/sanguine" in the family because we are both quiet, homebodies... Though she will have to learn that there is housework to be done, too. =) She is also seems to be somewhat stubborn... we have to give her some liquid Za.ntac 2x a day. And now she has started to hold it in her mouth and purposefully spit it out all the while staring at us straight in the eyes with a grin on her face. She thinks it is a game. She knows to swallow it because she has been taking this medicine for 2 1/2 months now!
She is losing some hair on her sides, but none in the back (amazingly, as much as she mattes it up rolling around) or top. It is getting to the point, where I have to start fixing her hair before we go anywhere because it gets so messy and looks like bedhead. I always say, "it is so crazy I have to fix my 3 month old's hair before we go anywhere!". Don't get me wrong, I love her hair! It is starting to lighten up as it is growing out. My husband is not looking forward to keeping the boys away... he jokingly bemoans that he will have a gorgeous blonde haired, blue eyed daughter.
Syd is extremely ticklish! So much so, she giggles and squeals every time we change her clothes. She actually knows when pajama time is coming and starts squealing before we even start...
We are loving this fun interactive stage and look forward each new stage to come. We thank God every day for her!
