Baby Girl's Name

Well, this post is a little slow coming.  It has been a little quiet on the baby news front, for which I am grateful.  I have been busy lately with babysitting, working a few days and researching baby stuff. =)  I also need to finish up my continuing education credits.  I am such a procrastinator each and every year.  I just always find something "better to do", like right now it is update my blog instead of studying. =)

As I am typing this my little girl is just a-kicking away.  This morning for the first time I felt simultaneous movement on both sides of my belly!  I guess she was stretching out and her quarters are getting a little tighter for her growing size.  It was a little unnerving and comforting when I read that my baby is now viable for survival if I would deliver her now.  Of course she would need a LOT of preemie care @ 24 weeks, so please stay put for another 14 weeks!

I have been feeling great!  I have gained a total of 15 pounds.  I keep thinking that is too much, but it is right on track for average gain.  Don't worry, I am still eating as healthy as I can and when I am hungry.  I have just been trying to not overeat because everything tastes so great! =)  The heartburn comes and goes on different days, but has been better lately.  My midwife suggested taking papaya enzymes instead of T.UMs for the heartburn, since an excessive amount of T.UMs is not absorbed properly and will leave calcium deposits on your placenta.  Which in turn inhibit blood flow freely to and from the baby.  The papaya enzymes work great!  I don't have to take many of them and if I eat something tomato-ey, spicy, etc.  I just chew up a few after eating and it does the trick at keeping it at bay.  My belly has been getting pretty tight and definitely has started to show more and more.  No more incognito pregnant lady walking around.  LOL!  Everyone knows anyway. =)

Well, as far as names go...we pretty much had it picked out the day after we found out it was a girl.  My husband loves girl names that shorten to boy names...ex: Samantha to Sam, Alexandra to Alex, etc.  So, he loved this name and it was in my top five.  So it was a no brainer to agree that our little girl will be named...Sydney Grace.  I had picked Grace as a middle name years ago during infertility.  I always wanted to give credit to God that it is by His grace that we have a child.  I just LOVE it!  It is still so weird to call her by her name...it really makes the whole baby thing more real!

Well, I hope to post a little more about my nursery soon and how it is coming along.  I also want to post some belly pics, but I first have to crop my head off due to my low profile blog. =)  But I need to transfer some laundry and fold some, and STUDY for my CEUs!

That's a beautiful choice! I love it. We knew a little girl (she's not so little anymore) named Sydney. She was a very special and wonderful child. :)I'm sure your Sydney will be too!
